    8. When something is a paradox, it means that it seems illogical. How is the story of the Ship of Theseus a paradox?
Because Plutarco takes the story of the ship of Theseo and says that this history was an example of the philosophical paradox that consist in the persistence of identify. And is illogical because the main idea of this history is that even if you have physical and mind changes, your identify or you, still the same person.

    Personal opinion:
Well I agree with the video when it says that is very difficult answer the question “Who am I?” or “what things make me me?” But I think that all the people have a unique essence and that essence is formatted for all that you have around, your history, and the people that surrounds you. I think that we are the mix of a little histories and experience that we have had throughout our life and those experiences make us grow.
I think that our spirit and identity was in constantly improvements because we learn of everything. Because even if you overcome the experiences that happening in the past, that experiences and the feeling that you had in that moment you will not forget.

    PERSONAL OPINION
I’ve never thought about What is personal identity? or What makes me, me? so, I had to do a little research in order to know about different theories. A theory sees that my body make me me, I think it has sense because no matter how I change my behavior, I can still remain me but if I’d had a transplant it doesn’t change who I am. Another theory explains that maybe the DNA but the main problem are twins, they have the same DNA, so it can be discarded. The last one is about my brain makes me me, I believe it is the best theory and that our experiences and memories makes me me.
I think everything makes me me, for example things I didn't choose such as my family, where I live, and other things I chose like my career, the university, even unimportant decisions makes me me.

  6. 1) B: The mythical founder king of Athens
    2) C: Killed the Minotaur
    3) C: 1000 years
    4) B: Whenever necessary
    5) A: They are one and the same thing
    6) Because it involves many factors, that go from simple things as your name, to your hopes and dreams for the future.
    7) Physically, they both looked the same. They had the same parts, the same color, the same size and the same proportion for every part.
    8) It is said that both of the ships existing were identical, that they were exactly like the other one. Nonetheless, one of the ships had had the presence of Theseus, while the other one had not, so they weren't actually the same.

    Personal opinion:
I believe personal identity involves every single aspect that makes you unique and interesting. As I said in one of my answers above, these aspects go from your name to things like hobbies and dreams. There's a reason why it's called personal identity and it's that you have certain qualities that nobody else might have, or that you share with others.
For instance, I think it's my friendliness and my don't-care attitude towards criticism what makes me unique.

  7. 1. Who was Theseus?
R/ B. The mythical founder king of Athens.

    2. What did Theseus do in Crete before sailing home to Athens?
    R/ B. Killed the Minotaur.

    3. How long did the Athenians maintain the ship of Theseus in the harbor?
    R/ C. 1000 years

    4. To maintain the ship of Theseus, how often did Athenians replace the parts on it?
    R/ B. Whenever neccesary.

    5. When two things are numerically identical, it means:
R/ A. They are one and the same thing.

    6. Because we are very changing people. One day we like some things and the next day we hate them. So it is a kind of hard to determinate what things represent us.
Also because society is telling us how to be, how to act, how to look like and it can bring us insecurity and emotional inestability.
Define who we are depends on the time that we invest in knowing ourselves.

    7. They had the same pieces with the same materials. They both were the same size and color.

    8. Because even though they had to replace most of all the pieces from the first Ship, they still thinking the Ship were the same.

    PERSONAL OPINION:

“What is personal identity?” What makes you, YOU?

I think the personal identity is composed for all those things that are part of you and never change. It doesn't matter if you change the style of your clothes or hair, you still be the same nice person that always think in other people before yourselve.

Your personal identity is what makes you unique and different like an esscence. It is formed by all your experiences and decisions. Also by all the things that are around you and in a way affect you, like people, places and social media.

    Whenever necessary

    5. When two things are numerically identical, it means?
They are one and the same thing

    6. Why is the question “Who I am” so difficult to answer?
Because, it depends not just in a physical part a body or a name. It moves inside the identity.
And we are a collection of constantly changing parts, including body, mind, emotions and others.

    7. There are several ways that the ship that Theseus originally sailed to Athens from Crete and the ship docked in the Athenian harbor 1,000 years later could be qualitatively identical. List some of their qualitatively identical aspects.
Some of their qualitatively identical aspects are, the grandfather’s axe which was replaced, both the head and the handle. And every single part of the ship was modified for a new one.

    8. When something is a paradox, it means that it seems illogical. How is the story of the Ship of Theseus a paradox?
It is paradox, because they are trying to compare two completely different things as they be the same, besides all the changes that the ship suffered. And, they compare too, a person with the boat example, as if we could remove and change parts of out body like the boat did.

    Personal Opinion:
How the video said, we are changing every day, with every experience, emotion and all that we through. So, I can’t say who I am, but I can mention who I want to be. And in this way we could try to take the best decisions that drives us to the expected ending. What makes me?, all the experiences, knowledge, family values, culture, education, and everything that is around us and keep teaching us how unexpected is life.

  9. 1. The mitycal founder king of Athens.
    2. Killed the minotaur.
    3. 1000 years.
    4. Whenever necessary.
    5. They are one and the same thing.
    6. Because it's difficult to know if who I am depends on feelings, physical body and actions, or thoughts, they always are changing, but at the same time they are still the same too. It sounds complicated.
    7. Some identical aspects are: The identical pieces, the same material, the changes were made gradually.
    8. Because it talks about something confusing and illogical. The paradox is used to compare situations like in this one, and in this case the narrator is comparing the story to help to understand the big question "Who am I?"

    Short Answer:
I think the personal identity charaterizes each person, and it makes us special and unique people. If the identity were the same it doesn't were personal, and the world were boring. The characteristics that make us like we are; are the aspects that differentiate between each other. Everybody is special because they are who they are, the way they walk, the way they talk, the way they smile makes them different and interesting. So what makes me, me? It's my personality and my way to be with other people and with myself. My way to speak, my way to think and my decisions.
